we always hear of pple using this phrase in teachings...but...wat does worshipping in truth and in spirit actually mean?...
hee...i asked veron tt time...n if i nv rmb wrongly, this is wat she told me...
the truth refers to the word of God...we learn abt who God is, how He deals with things and his character from the bible...consequently, worshipping in truth means to worship God abt His attributes n who He is... this also means tt without reading the word of God, it's not very possible to really worship in truth...right? :)
spirit refers to our hearts, minds and souls...rmb the verse tt goes "Worship the Lord Your God with all your heart, all your mind and all your soul"?...tt's it!...God is saying worship Him in spirit!...oki...still very chim right?..basically, practically speaking, it means focusing our minds on God n God alone...not thinking abt wat to eat after service, where to go, our piles n piles of never-ending work etc etc...but juz thinking abt God n everything tt He has done for us...:)
hee...actually they r linked...n it all starts from reading God's word n spending quality time n living ur life together w God... think abt it...if we seldom read the word of God, our knowledge of who God is will always stay at e same level as the last time we actually read the bible...n if we seldom spend time w God n walk through life together w Him, dere'll b so little things to think abt when we try to worship God in truth and in spirit...right right?...:)
sooooooo...let's not juz pay lip service to God in worship...but really worship Him in spirit n in truth, amen? :)
